Queens Club Tennis Is Back

AEGON Championships

The summer of Tennis is back to the UK. Lawn tennis has started at the queens club. Players from all over the world have come to play at the great clubhouse in anticipation for the Wimbledon Championships to commence in the coming weeks.

Murray has already started well. Winning his first round match in straight sets. The Scot who has had a very indifferent start to his season, and a faltering end to his season last, will hope to start playing some fo his better tennis this week, hoping that it will stir him on to do well at Wimbledon.

7-6 (10-8) 6-3 second-round win over Ivan Navarro, who is ranked outside of the top 100 was a testing but all in all a comforable win for the Scot. he showed his deft touch when needed and played much better tennis from the baseline then his opposite number.

The test is for him to get back to 12 months ago where he was playing some really wonderful tennis and was fearless in his play. Hopefully the young Scot can recapture that form and head in to the Wimbledon grand slam full of confidence.

However in other british tennis news things arent so well with Alex Bogdanovic was knocked out of the Aegon Championships at Queen’s with a 4-6 6-3 6-4 first-round defeat by Bulgarian wildcard Grigor Dimitrov.

Rain forced the suspension of play on Monday with the scores 6-4 3-6 and with Bogdanovic leading 2-1 in the third.

But when the match resumed Dimitrov held serve before breaking the British number two and serving out to set up a meeting with Feliciano Lopez.

Bogdanovic, on the other hand, joins compatriots Jamie Baker and James Ward in falling at the first hurdle and the world number 166 will now turn his attention to qualifying for Wimbledon having missed out on a wildcard.
